Bill - you have one of the best resources in the world for obtaining info on Cory breeding right here on our site - Frank Falcone, AKA Coryologist.

I love them as well, I started with a group of 3 about 13 years ago and havent purchased 1 since, I counted the other day what I could see and came up with 13. I never knew they were breeding till a saw a little one about 2 years ago.

White sand as fine as you can get, paint or cover three sides of the tank, java moss, java moss, java moss, feed bbs every day for a week, one day no food, next day 80% water change. Works for Pandas and Adolfoi.

Get over it Bill! You will just kill them anyway!

You can use de-capped brine shrimp also. They love blackworms if you can get them.
The only thing I do is water changes weekly. With some of the more challanging species I'm going to half r/o and see if that makes a difference. Of course I only have sterbia and hastatus spawning so far. Frank says patience and I'm working on that. :erm:
Easy way to hatch the eggs once you get them. Put one of those livebearer nets into the tank. Add a few alder cones. When they spawn put the eggs into the net. This way no fooling with the eggs and water changes. I get virtually 100% hatch rate doing this which is why I have at least 300 sterbai young now. I only have a trio...one lone female who lays a whole lot of eggs!
The hastatus I don't do anything with...just java moss and floating plants and water changes. Babies are starting to show up and join the shoal. I hope I get as lucky with the green lasers, orange lasers, duplicarius, adolphi and black schwartzi.
Good luck...the cories have always been one of my favorites.

Thanks for the encouragement Ed.
Have you learned to tie a bottle of dechlor around your wrist when you do water changes so that you do not forget?
Bev, I definitely need more Metae. They are really neat looking Cories (My favorite) and I think that they will settle in really nicely into a 30g.
