I have raised cichlids since 1962. My first African cichlids were in 1969 when all of the new world cichlids were all cichlasoma and all african were different colors of auratus :)... so much more is known today about cichlids and every name has changed multiple times but there are still so many species yet to be discovered and classified.
That is why for me most of the fun of keeping fish is limited to cichlids and catfish :cool:
I have about 40 tanks ranging up to 300 gallons but have had as many as 150 tanks at one time.
