Hello All,

How can I clean glass canopies?
(display tank in the living room)
I don't buffer my water much, but it get's covered with calcium and salt deposits.
I have tried vinegar, it smells, and cleans the glass very very slow...
I used dish washing sponges, but no progress

Thanks,
Aram

You might try soaking in RO or distilled water.

jungle labs make a lime off cleaner which is what I used to use. Limeoff & a razor blade works very well.

I usually do a good scrubbing with the tooth brush, but it gets annoying. Thinking about using goo-gone but not sure about that idea

try baking soda with white vinegar to form a paste, be aware of the reaction so mix them in your kitchen sink.

I use vinegar and sometimes a razor blade. Rinse thoroughly at the end to get the vinegar off.

Nothing works better than muriatic acid. You can get from your local hardware store. Only use it in a well ventilated room and wear rubber gloves. A little goes a long way, Dampen an old rag, wipe and rinse with water...done.
Be careful!

The Home Depot by me carries it in 1 gallon jugs in the concrete section. I think its used to take off mortar residue.
